If Ya Got It -- Keep It

Most of you will recognize the quote "If ya got it, flaunt it." In this editorial we offer a new variation with "If ya got it, keep it." They're actually good advice.

The first tells us that if you've got something that looks good you should be proud to show it to others. Every two months our authors do exactly that. They take the best stories they can write and proudly display them for you, our readers in a manner we hope is pleasing and enjoyable for you, the reader.

The second tells us that if something is good we should make the effort to keep it. How many of you would unthinkingly throw out your baby, a million dollars, your mother-in-law... well, two out of three isn't bad.

We at TSAT would like to think that we have something here to be proud of, something worth keeping, and we think you agree considering how many of you have visited these fine web pages. So now we're introducing you to a new aphorism, "TANSTAAFL."

TANSTAAFL is NOT the Dutch word for tinsmith. It stands for "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch", which means everything costs something. Now before you assume we want money from you, relax. We want you to pay for the pleasure we provide -- by sending our writers your comments. Our writers cannot live by "bread" alone, since they get none, so your comments, your suggestions, your criticisms, even your gripes are the fee we charge for their labors.

So -- what do you think? Are we charging too much? Should we ask for your first born children instead? Maybe we should be asking for a DNA sample or require you to participate in a simple scientific study our crack technical staff is working on -- something to do with matter transmission?

Oh, I almost forgot. We don't bill and we don't take Mastercard so you're on the honor system. How about it? Can we see some comments for our authors?
