About the Space Shuttle
The Columbia's final mission was launched from Kennedy Space Center. NASA has web pages devoted to Columbia itself, and to her crew; the latter page has been authorized by the survivors of Husband et al.
The main contractor of the Space Shuttle program is Boeing. In addition to having overall responsibility for the Shuttle as a whole, Boeing is also directly responsible for the Shuttle's main engines. Like every other Shuttle, Columbia's 154-foot-tall external tank was made by Lockheed Martin, with some parts of the job subcontracted out to Ducommun. Alliant Techsystems made her two external rocket boosters; Honeywell, avionics and controls; Orbital Sciences, robotic and electronics components. MD Robotics designed and built Canadarm, the robotic manipulator in the Shuttle's cargo bay.
Terrestrial space programs
Here is a list of many nations' space programs. We've provided hyperlinks to websites -- official ones when possible -- for each program. Note that many of these sites are not written in English. For those sites which have more than one language listed, the first one is the 'primary' website, as determined by examining the URLs.
