The Unspeakably Enchanted

   Waiting alone in the gleaming, antiseptic operating theatre, with the avian shouts of the street hawkers wafting in from outside, Adolph Carter, Student Nurse, thought once more of the fearless Betty, the only man she had ever really loved. He was now, according to that television program, dancing away the hot Rio nights with the sultry Obadiah.
   Abruptly, came a peal of mighty bells, and she instinctively checked her fingernails. He was here! “Even the crafty Ophelia couldn’t keep me from you, you whose lips have unquenchable central heating!” he stated.
   Suddenly, there was a much-appreciated break in the formerly-incessant shelling, and as the band began to play, she realized thankfully that, in the end, things always work out really, really well.
